Tenanta is a rent and utility-billing platform built for the Kenyan market — one dashboard for landlords and agents to manage collections, and one clear, always-on view for tenants to see exactly what they owe and what they've paid.
Collecting rent in Kenya usually means a stack of M-Pesa messages, a notebook of who's paid what, and a lot of manual chasing every month-end. Tenants, meanwhile, rarely have a clear record of their own payment history — just a pile of texts.
We built Tenanta so both sides of that relationship have the same source of truth: landlords get a live dashboard of collections, arrears and occupancy across every property they manage, and tenants get passwordless access to their balance, bills and receipts — no app to install, no password to forget.

Tenanta covers the full rent cycle — from collecting the money to keeping both sides informed, and even helping you fill vacant units.
M-Pesa first. STK push, automatic reconciliation, and receipts tenants can trust — no screenshots, no guesswork.
Whether you manage a single block or a portfolio spread across estates, Tenanta keeps rent, bills and tenants in one dashboard.
Landlords get visibility into who owes what. Tenants get a clear, always-available record of what they've paid.
The exact same platform, four very different stories. See what using Tenanta actually looks like, day to day, depending on who you are.
Renting a bedsitter, an apartment, or anything in between
Browse Find a Home with no login required — filter by county, estate, house type and rent band, then call or WhatsApp the landlord straight from the listing.
Your landlord invites you by phone number. You get an SMS with a secure link — no password to create or remember, just a one-time code each time you log in.
Your dashboard itemizes rent, deposit status, and any water, electricity or garbage bills — each with its own due date, so nothing is a surprise.
Pay in full or in bits, whenever suits you. Every payment triggers an STK push and reconciles instantly — your balance updates the second it lands.
Every payment generates a receipt automatically. Download any of them, review your full payment history, and get an SMS confirmation every time.
When you leave, your deposit reimbursement (minus any agreed damage deduction) gets a due-by date you can track right from your dashboard.
Rent is rarely the only thing a tenant owes. Here's exactly how each bill type works, and how money moves once it's paid.
Each billing period, the landlord or agent records the current meter reading from the unit's page. Tenanta locks the previous reading once a bill is generated, so past bills can't be edited after the fact — and the physical meter's history carries over correctly even when a tenant moves out and a new one moves in.
Tenants aren't locked into paying everything at once. Partial payments are tracked against the balance automatically, any overpayment becomes a credit toward the next bill, and every payment — big or small — still generates its own receipt.
Deposits are tracked apart from recurring bills, with their own status (due, partial, held). On move-out, the landlord records any damage deduction, and the remaining reimbursement gets a due-by date the tenant can follow.

Manage every property, block and unit from one account. Set custom rent and bills per house, collect via M-Pesa, track arrears, and advertise vacant units to prospective tenants — all without spreadsheets.

Log in with just your phone number — no password. See your current balance, upcoming bills, full payment history and downloadable receipts, and pay directly from your dashboard.
